Information for Race Day Participants
The 2024 Brookhaven Bolt will be held on Saturday, May 18th at Village Place Brookhaven. The race starts at 8:00am sharp for runners and will have staggered start times this year. THIS IS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT. In the event of inclement weather (lightning or hazardous conditions), please check our website homepage for up-to-date information.
Starting Location / Pre-Race Staging
The Brookhaven Bolt starts on Caldwell Road directly behind Village Place Brookhaven. All runners are to gather in the parking lot behind Village Place Brookhaven no later than 7:45 A.M. Please take into account the short walk from our parking area to the starting area.
Our race will begin on Caldwell Road shortly before the intersection with Green Meadows. Competitive runners are advised to congregate at or near the back entrance to Village Place Brookhaven near Savi Urban Market. We will have staggered start times this year and will have many volunteers in the area, so do not hesitate to ask questions.
Race Course
Our course runs through the beautiful hills of Ashford Park in Brookhaven. Beginning and ending at Village Place Brookhaven, the course is a challenging yet fair test for runners of all abilities. This race is perfect for all levels of running ability including strollers and walkers. Our 5K race is officially certified by the USATF and is eligible in the event a National Open Record is set. Our certification code is GA12019WC. We are recognized by the Road Runners Club of America.
Finish Line / Post-Race Festival
Our race course is a loop which allows us to have our start and finish lines in the same area. The finish line is on Dresden Drive directly in front of Village Place Brookhaven. Upon completing the race, please enter the parking lot on your right for refreshments and snacks.
We are very thankful to all of our sponsors for the Bolt and encourage all of our runners to participate in the post race festival. We will present awards to our top male and female finishers. Live Race results will be located at or near the finish line courtesy of Orion Racing. Awards presentation for winners. We will also have a post race table where you can pickup your shirt and/or hat as well as any coupons form our sponsors.
First Aid / Restrooms / Personal Belongings
In the case of an emergency, please let one of our volunteers, police officers, firemen or EMS teams know immediately. We will have an emergency first aid area in the parking lot directly across Caldwell Road from the back entrance of Village Place. Restroom facilities will be located near the back corner of the parking lot. Please leave all personal belongings in your car. The Brookhaven Bolt Community Association and its volunteers cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen items. We do not have an area of safe keeping for your personal items.
Race Packet Pickup
You can pick up your race packet from Big Peach Ride + Run Brookhaven on Friday, May 17th between 4-8pm.
Chip Timing by Orion Racing
Results will be accessible via the individual QR code on your bib. Scan the code for live, real-time results. Results will be posted to our website, the Race Roster website and Orion’s website shortly after the race. Please make sure that your race number is securely fixed to the front of your shirt. Our photographers will do their best to photograph each runner as they cross the finish line. (We will send out a link after the race to see your photos).
Orion Racing will have a live results feed that will be located near the finish line. Results will be posted to our website, the active.com website and Orion Racing’s website shortly after the race. Awards will be provided to the top 3 male and female winners along with winners from each age group by gender.
